Solicitor Dr Ilona Schneider advises national and international clients on a wide range of legal issues relating to food law. A key focus of her work is representing and supporting clients in criminal proceedings, as well as advising on matters relating to the labelling, advertising, classification and composition of foodstuffs. Ilona Schneider studied law at the University of Bayreuth, specialising in intellectual property law and competition law. She subsequently worked as a research assistant in this field at an international commercial law firm. At the same time, she completed her legal training in Landshut and Munich. After passing her second state examination, she worked for several years at a large international law firm in Munich. In her doctoral thesis on food law, Ms Schneider focuses on the labelling of plant-based alternatives, particularly in relation to the protection of the term ‘milk’. She speaks German, English and French.
